Updated YouTube Red Statistics

Since my last post about the number of YouTube red subscribers, I noticed a new statistic in YouTube analytics that can give us a more accurate estimate.

In the last 90 days, 3069 of my 167232 views were YouTube Red views (these are in the United States, as the premium service isn’t available anywhere else yet). This equates to 1.84% of my viewers. If you take my channel audience as representative of YouTube as a whole, and assume that YouTube Red users consume the same amount of YouTube as anyone else, then this equates to roughly 2.3 million Americans signed up to the subscription service.
